When to play Legacy [DAII]

I just started a new run through of DAII, and I'm wondering when should I play the Legacy DLC for it to make sense. I'm guessing after the Deep Roads, that way I have my full crew and after meeting the Grey Wardens.

Since you've said "new run through" I'm assuming you have finished the game before, if not spoiler alert.

Yeah for me Chapter 3, I quite enjoy partying with Carver/Bethany and you get to bring them along. I prefer chapter 3 as I roleplay it that Hawkes a bit tired of the amount of bullshit being asked of them and goes on an adventure.

The best argument for doing it in chapter 2 in my mind is that Mark of the Assassin works best in chapter 3 (it makes more sense to be invited as the Champion of Kirkwall) and its best to do those a chapter apart as between those two DLC they almost double the unique environments you get to visit. Keeping it from getting stale.

I hope you enjoy it, for me that really did an amazing job and it showed they learned a lot from DA2's mistakes. Its one of the reasons I'm so psyched for DA:I.

I do it during Act 3 because I hate myself and can never resist the gutpunch of your 'conversation' with Leandra at the end of the DLC. ;3; breaks my heart every time.

I loved that part. It's one of the rarest of times I ever saw my Hawke vulnerable.

act 2 before all that remains

Agreed. That's when I always play it.

I did it at the start of act 2. It flowed very well with the rest of the story there and acted as a nice interlude between thse two chapters.

One thing to keep in mind is that the stats for the gear you get depend on your level. Meaning Hawke's Key has the potential to be the best weapon in the game if you get it around level 20 or so. Not to mention the Grey Warden armor looks amazing.

I'd say as near to the end of Act 3 as possible, or even post-main campaign.

I'm on my first run through. I did it right efire the final mission in order to set the mood.

This is actually the exact question I've had since I'm trying to play through everything before DAI. I'm actually hoping someone could answer a question for me so I'll know for sure.

If I do Legacy in Act 2 just before All That Remains, will the living Hawks sibling be able to be a member of the party if they're a Warden?

Yes. They can participate if they're alive, no matter where they end up.
