Nike is a giant company, and the NBA is no slouch either. I highly doubt the NBA and the Players Association would allow something like this without security in mind. Imagine the shit show that would come up if Steph Curry was breaking away for a lay up, has his shoes get hacked and untied, and then he falls and gets injured. Lawsuits would be coming in hard and fast.
Would it be possible? yes, with enough time and effort I believe anything can be hacked. But it's not like it's gonna be easy. There's way too much money involved.
i doubt they'll put much time and money into built in security, a more simple solution would be to just give the players shoes that were modified and had the self lace disabled. Its all just for promotion anyway, they just need people to see them wearing them
